Here at the corporate offices of alittlestrongereveryday.com we have put up streamers and balloons, hired a band, baked a cake, rolled in several kegs of cherry Kool-Aid, and are doing a conga line because it is our first birthday! After 365 days of operation we are celebrating 122 posts, 12,392 page views, and 176 subscribers.
(Two people also got mad at me and withdrew their subscriptions. We have withdrawn their credentials and given their names to the FBI.)
Yes indeed, it was just about a year ago that I found an article titled, “Have Your Own Blog Up and Running in 20 Minutes!” I had been wanting to start a blog, but was intimidated by the nuts and bolts of it. But this article calmed my fears. Twenty minutes? I can do that, I said to myself.
So one year ago today I sat down at my computer at 9:00 a.m. and went to work, believing that by 9:20 I’d be in the blog business. And I was! By 9:20 THAT NIGHT! Yes, it took me about 11 hours to get this thing up and running.
I know you’re thinking, “Sheesh, Atteberry must be an idiot.” That, I wouldn’t argue with. However, trust me when I tell you that article over-promised. If you ever see an article that promises you can have a blog up and running in 20 minutes, don’t believe it.
At any rate, my deepest gratitude goes out to all of you who have subscribed, who read and share this blog, and who share your comments. It’s been a lot of work, but also very rewarding. These devotions force me to keep thinking and studying and reading, which is a good thing. And yes, they also offer me a way to scratch my writer’s itch. My ultimate hope is that, in some small way, they’re helping us all grow a little stronger every day.
